After spending my teens and 20’s playing in various types of bands and having a blast doing it, a career, wife and kids took center stage in my life.  My drum playing days were sent packing to the great musician graveyard; The Basement.

While sitting at my computer, contemplating the horror of soon turning 40, the thought crossed my mind…”I should join a band!”  It was either that or find a 20 something girlfriend, an idea my loving wife was clearly opposed to.

Out of the loop for over 15 years, I searched the internet for Bands Seeking Drummers, frightened at what I might find, based on a lot of the music I hear today.  Fortunately, I found "Billie Jo & The Distractions" were looking for a drummer, and I was looking for exactly what Billie Jo had.  A repertoire of great, timeless songs that every crowd, young and old, can get up and dance to.  After auditioning and being accepted into the band, I had a feeling there was something very special about this group of people, and I couldn’t wait to get started.

It’s a privilege to be able to play with such great musicians and I’m now, actually, looking forward to my 40’s, playing with Billie Jo and being one of The Distractions!

I’m not sure who’s happier about my drums no longer being in the basement, me or my neighbors! J
